Students and families will have access to lessons, concert details, dress uniform information, and a calendar. Additionally students will be added to a separate Google Classroom corresponding to their orchestra grade level each year.

Our daily schedule and rehearsal plans - want to know what we are doing if you’re out of town? Look no further.

Classroom Expectations

  1. Respect and Responsibility - what does that look like in orchestra? We will discuss and agree as a group
  2. Bring your materials to class and have them ready daily
  3. Learn to become independent problem solvers
  4. Connect with me if you need additional help - 7:35-8 is open practice/tutor time in my room every day

Concerts (schedule located HERE)

Concerts are a large part of your orchestra grade - communication is key if you are ill or there is a family emergency. T-shirts will be provided as part of your concert uniform; black slacks, socks, shoes complete the ensemble

Instrument Storage

Our orchestra instruments are stored in lockers in the orchestra room. Since the room is open at 7:35 every day, students can drop off their instruments before the first bell rings to their locker rather than carrying them around the school. Mrs. Tafelmeyer goes to LHS to teach in the afternoons, so the door will be unlocked by music staff at the end of each day if students would like to take their instrument home for practice (sometimes students need to ask those staff if they forget). Mr. McMahon, Mrs. Weichel, (choir) or Ms. Elliott and Mr. Clark (band) are available as well as custodians.
